Lili Marleen

back to when it all begain

She’s back! One of TENCLUB’s first fascinations…

It all started with a fascination by TENCLUB’s Curious Morschi Franz:

”The elegance of chivalrous Prussia, the jazz that came from America and the shame of the First World War fused into an urge to escape with one purpose: creating a new world out of the existing reality”

100 years ago in Berlin, something was brewing. Something creative, something horrid, something weird, but so beautiful even the grotesque was stylized. A place filled with different politics, views on the world, running from old wounds and new fears. Old Prussian nobleness mixed with jazzy tunes from the west… It was called: The Weimar Republic.

Let’s bring some elegance in this horrid place in the roaring 20’s. There is only one lady who can do that… Who is always and everywhere and at the same time nobody has ever seen her… But… She’s back. The one and only: Lili Marleen

Join us in our time machine to travel to the past and let’s celebrate the Berlin of the 1920-30’s exactly like they did.

Ladies, gentlemen, boys and girls and everything in between and beyond… Lili doesn’t care what you wear as long as it’s chic evening attire, tuxedos, top hats and tails, flapper dresses, beautiful cocktail dresses with lots of glitter and glamour ;or just what you wear under it in cabaret style. Be aware that this time we have a really strict dress code. So no paperboys or rum-runners, unless they are wearing their best evening attire. You will not get in even though you have bought your ticket. Our doorman will be strict! You will be a guest in the mansion of Graf Tessler so dress like that. If you have doubts, ask questions.

Only the curious will find the right ways…

Between 20:00 and 22:00 Graf Tessler will hold an opera concert before the party which will include famous German composers such as Richard Wagner, Richard Strauss, Alban Berg, Arnold Schönberg and the duo who thought of making an opera so amazing and accessible that even street beggars could pay and enjoy it: Kurt Weill and Bertold Brecht.

They will give you a quick view how horrid and wretched the world really is by taking you on a journey with little scenes throughout the mansion… what will follow is a Lili Marleen Party in the underground in the secret cellars till 3 am in the next morning to make the world seem a more beautiful place.

Opera & Lili Marleen Party ticket = 50 euro
Entrance to just the Party after 22:00 = 30 euro
