Andrej Kapor & Danibal
Andrej Kapor – performing his poetry tonight – is an artist, writer and creative producer working across diverse fields. As an author, his work explores themes of rebellion, sensuality, and the divine, blending dark humour with influences from his multicultural heritage. As a curator, publisher and broadcaster, his focus is on community-building and platforming marginalised voices to drive cultural and social transformation. Andrej’s work has been toured, published and exhibited internationally.
Danibal’s performances heavily lean on the sound of the Jew’s harp, as well as experimental singing, live loops and improvisation; Danibal’s love for the jew’s harp sparked when he came into contact with Tuvan throat singing and Siberian jew’s harp traditions in 1999. He became a specialist in this prehistoric synthesizer, his suitcase filled with jew’s harps from all over the globe. Adding some yodeling and throat singing to the mix combined with live looping, his music has once been described as electronic dada folk.
