With Cuba Libre, we are kicking off a summer of freedom. In these times of unrest, war and oppression, TenClub offers a long evening full of ideas, inspiration and entertainment that includes a tribute to Santiago’s famous music theatre Casa de la Trova, Cuban stories & rituals, salsa lessons, a performance by the excellent Ramón Valle Cubano Quartet and much more.
Cuba Libre is an evening filled with music, dance and stories in an atmosphere of freedom and independence. All of this happens in TenClub, a cultural salon for revolutionaries, lovers, adventurers, dreamers and dancers, a place for free thinkers and idealists, a safe haven for all who care deeply about others and the world.
We will open both our Maison des Curiosités at Nes 120 and Mayor Manor next door for the occasion and we will make sure to fill the buildings with the warm and melancholic sounds and colours of a tropical island that combines Caribbean and European culture, as well as the echoes of a revolution and a love for life.

Street & Casa de la Trova:
Vincent Pino Trio will perform two Cuba inspired sets: an opening show on the street in front of our buildings, starting at 19:00 and one inside the Maison des Curiosités aka the Casa de la Trova, later on in the evening
Trinidad Room:
Yamila “La Doña” Hernandez Portero and Marilisha Rozalina share tales about the history of Cuba, with lots of musical intermezzos
Santiago de Cuba Room:
Ramón Valle Cubano Quartet with Ramón Valle (piano), Marco Toro (timbales), Daniel Patrias-Congas (vocals) and Pedro Pardo (double bass and vocals)
Malecón Room:
Learn how to dance salsa and other Cuban dances with the Cuban Salsa Company. Soundtracked by El Che
Palmira Room:
Don’t miss the Santeria ritual, a fascinating blend of Roman Catholic and Yoruba practices. Spiritual healer Karel Acosta will guide our worship of Olokun, the non-binary God of the Sea. We will pray for water, money and the authority that comes with it.
