Line-up: Tap ‘n Chess
Tappin-it Collective‘s dance performance GAMBIT features rapping aliens, who play chess in the Matrix as they dance with your alter-ego. GAMBIT is a rhythmic and futuristic tap dance pas de deux between two extreme opposites who meet on a black-and-white chequered dance floor. Like two aliens from different planets, they try to understand each other, taking strategic steps towards each other. With counter-rhythms and polyphony in dance, movement, play, tap, percussion and voice, they go on a voyage of discovery across the area between themselves and the other. GAMBIT is a dance-like and rhythmic performance about the dangers of polarisation but equally about the power of polyphony.
