Discover how life theatre comes to life at TenClub’s Grand Theatre
Actress, singer and TenClub member Nanette Dražić comes from a Croatian singing family, but for a long time lacked a connection to her roots. Until she was overwhelmed by an epiphany during her first solo performance at the Concertgebouw. Her existence as a singer could only be redeemed in one way: she had to go to Croatia to explore her family’s musical tradition. And so she went. With no money, but driven by a kind of primal feeling, she set off for Croatia to interview her father and collect a lot of material about her family. On the spot, she found out, among other things, that her grandfather’s singing had marched past her grandmother’s house as a soldier during the Second War. Enchanted by his voice, she wished she could find a man like him. After the war, she saw him again, when – singing again – he went to fetch wine branches with his father. Nanette’s grandmother’s love for her grandfather turned out to be true love. Since knowing this story, Nanette has been asking herself the question: what does it mean for love when I sing my songs?
In Croatia, Nanette found the connection with her desire to sing. She now feels the safety and confidence needed to allow her career to blossom fully. She found her fascination, explored to work out what she found and then felt in a theatre performance, which is far from finished, but already very beautiful. Like Nanette’s performance, TenClub’s Grand Theatre on Nes 104 is evolving; it is under construction and for Nanette it is the right place where she can make life art in complete freedom, uncompromisingly.
Nanette’s theatre performance will grow along with TenClub’s Grand Theatre and vice versa. Ontdek hoe levenstheater tot leven komt in TenClub’s Grand Theatre
Actrice, zangeres én TenClub lid Nanette Dražić komt uit een Kroatische zangfamilie, maar miste lang een connectie met haar roots. Totdat ze tijdens haar eerste soloperformance in het Concertgebouw overvallen werd door een epiphany. Haar bestaan als zangeres kon maar op één manier verzilverd worden: ze moest naar Kroatië om de muzikale traditie van haar familie te onderzoeken. En dus ging ze. Zonder geld, maar door een soort oergevoel gedreven, vertrok ze naar Kroatië om haar vader te interviewen en heel veel materiaal over haar familie te verzamelen. Ter plekke kwam ze er onder andere achter dat het gezang van haar opa als soldaat tijdens de Tweede Oorlog langs het huis van haar oma had gemarcheerd. Betoverd door zijn stem, wenste ze dat ze een man als hij zou vinden. Na de oorlog zag ze hem nog een keer, toen hij – opnieuw zingend – samen met zijn vader wijntakken ging halen. De liefde van Nanette’s oma voor haar opa bleek ware liefde te zijn. Sinds ze dit verhaal kent, stelt Nanette zichzelf de vraag: wat betekent het voor de liefde als ik mijn liedjes zing?
In Kroatië vond Nanette de verbinding met haar verlangen om te zingen. Ze voelt nu de veiligheid en het vertrouwen die nodig zijn om haar carrière volledig tot bloei te laten komen. Ze vond haar fascinatie, ging op onderzoek uit om wat ze vond en voelde vervolgens uit te werken in een theatervoorstelling, die nog lang niet af is, maar wel al heel mooi. Net als Nanette’s voorstelling, is TenClub’s Grand Theatre op Nes 104 in ontwikkeling; er wordt aan gebouwd en het is voor Nanette de juiste plek waar ze in volledige vrijheid, compromisloos levenskunst kan maken.
Nanette’s theatervoorstelling groeit mee met TenClub’s Grand Theatre en andersom. We nodigen je van harte uit om een weergaloos programma bij te wonen, waarin fascinatie-ontdekking, fascinatie-uitwerking en de ontwikkeling van een theatre of life bij elkaar komen. TenClub bestaat om een reis als die van Nanette Dražić’s te faciliteren. De totstandkoming van Alles van Waarde is Weerloos raakt de kern van het menselijk bestaan. De eerste, meest rauwe voorstelling, in het nog in ontwikkeling zijnde Grand Theatre vindt vanavond plaats. Zorg dat je erbij bent!
