TenClub’s House of Magic proudly presents a world première in exclusive behind the scenes footage, unravelling the ever fascinating mysteries behind Hollywood’s most mind boggling special effects. Have you ever wondered, watching a film: how did they pull it off? How on earth did the filmmakers make the utterly impossible look so real?
One night, Four Shows, Four Magicians, Four Rooms. Directed by Marco Grandia and Tim de Vos.
Over the course of four incredible shows across four magically decorated rooms, Tobias Dostal, Joske Koning, Marco Grandia and Tim de Vos will recreate in real life what you normally only see on the screen. Look forward to understanding a whole lot more about special effects than you did before. You are likely to learn lots at only a neglectable calculated risk: There is a very small possibility that this evening will leave you even more confused than before….
Tonight’s Program
Tobias Dostal, a world famous master in real life visual effects from Germany, who will – we kid you not – liquify anything solid and pull things away from the film screen you’re looking at in full concentration. How he does it, we do not know. You might want to figure it out yourself… Good luck!
Set in a 19th-century dreamscape, Tim de Vos’ performance reimagines Méliès’ iconic science fiction film Le Voyage dans la Lune with clever illusions and sleight-of-hand, blending cinematic nostalgia, including magical encounters and a daring lunar escape brought to life on stage.
Joske Koning aka Regina Bovary, a diva-esque character from a 1920s movie, gives the classic circus performance an amazing cinematic twist, as she takes you into another world, one that you thought only existed in films.
Only a pro will recognise House of Magic co-director Marco Grandia, who is set to reincarnate as a raging bull for the occasion, showcasing some live special effects, which appear to be very real. Mr. Grandia – in other words – introduces you to the world of film like you’re in it yourself. Brace yourself for some next level immersive cinema…
