Trio 258 in concert bij TenClub!
Een feestelijk concert vol Russische romantiek en de viering van de 150ste verjaardag van pianist/componist Sergei Rachmaninoff. Trio 258 neemt u mee in een tijdmachine. De drie vrienden vonden elkaar in een liefde voor de grote meesters uit de eerste helft van de vorige eeuw. Op vrijdag 13 januari spelen ze Rachmaninoff, Sjostakovitsj en Scriabin, brengen ze historische fragmenten ten gehore en presenteren ze hun debuutalbum: The Return.

Album ‘The Return’ is een regelrecht eerbetoon aan Sergei Rachmaninoff, met het zelden opgenomen tweede pianotrio als pièce de résistance. Indringende muziek van een groot componist die in 1893 pas twintig was toen hij het schreef. Een jongeman die op ontdekkingsreis was in zijn eigen kunst en die van anderen. Daarin voelt Trio 258 zich met hem verbonden. Het gewicht en de oprechtheid van zijn diepe gevoelens vormen de basis van het stuk en kunnen niet zomaar als onvolwassen worden bestempeld. Het verdriet, de melancholie en de liefde in dit werk is echt, tijdloos en weet daardoor het publiek en ons als spelers te raken. A festive concert full of Russian romance and the celebration of pianist/composer Sergei Rachmaninoff’s 150th birthday. Trio 258 takes you into a time machine. The three friends found each other in a love for the great masters of the first half of the last century. On Friday the 13th of January, they will play Rachmaninoff, Shostakovich and Scriabin, performing historical excerpts and presenting their debut album: The Return.

Album ‘The Return’ is a downright tribute to Sergei Rachmaninoff, with the rarely recorded second piano trio as the pièce de résistance. Piercing music by a great composer who was just twenty in 1893 when he wrote it. A young man who was on a journey of discovery in his own art and that of others. In this, Trio 258 feels a connection to him. The weight and sincerity of his deep feeling is the basis of the piece and cannot simply be labelled immature. The sadness, melancholy and love in this work is real, timeless and therefore manages to touch the audience and us as players. The CD also features a prelude by Rachmaninoff nicknamed The Return.
